Our main treatment
Asphalt Shingle Roof Rejuvenation in Largo
For shingles that have gone stiff and grainy in the sun but still lie flat and keep the rain out. The treatment soaks into the asphalt, the shingles bend again, and the roof holds onto its granules for longer.

What happens to the shingle
The asphalt in a shingle is held together by oils, and the Florida sun draws them out a little more every summer. Once enough are gone, the shingle stops flexing. It cracks when it heats and cools, and the granules on top loosen and wash away.
The treatment is a soy-based oil sprayed evenly across each slope. It works its way into the asphalt over the following hours, softening it from the inside. On a sound roof, the result is shingles that move with the weather again and keep a tighter grip on the granules that protect them.
What you can expect from it
Applied to asphalt shingles that are aged but intact, one treatment generally adds five to seven years to the life of the roof. We only quote it when the shingles we tested can still get there.
Which roofs it suits
We decide this on the roof, but these are the usual signs.
Good candidates
- Shingles that feel stiff or crack at the corners when gently lifted
- Faded color and granules collecting in the gutters
- A roof with no active leaks and a solid deck underneath
Not a match
- Leaks, rot or sagging: that needs a roofer first
- Loose or missing tabs: a tune-up comes first
- Concrete or clay tile: see tile cleaning and sealing
How a treatment day goes
Check the forecast
We set the date around a dry stretch, since the oil needs a few rain-free hours to soak in.
Protect the yard
Gutters, plants, pavers and cars are covered or moved before the sprayer comes out.
Clean and fix first
Any washing or small repairs agreed at the visit are done before treatment.
Spray slope by slope
Each section gets an even coat, worked from the top down so nothing is missed or doubled.
Walk-round and tidy
We check every slope from the ground, clear up, and tell you what to watch for in the first rains.
Shingle treatment questions
Will the roof look different?
Most owners notice a slightly richer color for a while, then the roof settles back to its normal tone. It will not look painted or glossy.
Do I need to be home?
No. We agree the plan beforehand, and you only need to make sure we can reach the gutters and the side yards.
Is it safe around kids, pets and plants?
It is made from plant oils. Even so, we cover beds and keep pets indoors while the sprayer runs. Once it has soaked in, the roof is back to normal.
